This bit features the Intuport Flexi mouthpiece with a medium port designed to create space for the tongue. By lifting the center of the mouthpiece away from the tongue, pressure is reduced and redistributed across the bars. This can be beneficial for horses with a sensitive tongue or those that tend to stick their tongue out.

The port includes a flat surface contacting the palate while maintaining a flat surface across the tongue to help reduce tongue pressure.

The mouthpiece is constructed from TPU, offering flexibility while maintaining durability. A wire core inside reinforces the structure, helping maintain strength while preserving flexibility. The mouthpiece also features a slight forward angle designed to follow the anatomy of the horse’s mouth.

The Pelham cheekpiece combines direct rein action with leverage. When used with two reins, the upper rein acts more directly on the mouthpiece while the lower rein introduces leverage. When used with a curb chain or curb strap, pressure is applied to the chin and jaw as the reins engage.
